"The food is delicious, freshly made and prepared with care. The menu is a bit different from most other places but doesn't try too hard to impress (the way some higher end cafe's attempt to do). I'm not a 'foodie' by any means but it is so nice to find a place that has a unique menu that makes you salivate as opposed to the typical, boring menu you'll find in most sandwich places. I just love how the experienced staff takes such pride in each item they create. I was told by one of the owners that all of the ingredients are FRESH which is pretty obvious when you taste the food. The soups are made fresh too (NOT powdered mixes like most places)!"
"Wonderful place to grab a sandwich in Madison, NJ. Very thoughtfully decorated dining area with freshly cut flowers, and candles on the fireplace mantle. Very pleasant owners will be happy to serve you your favorite sandwich off of their creative menu....I had a great time there, and always do when I stop at this nice, quiet, relaxing sandwich shop in the heart of downtown Madison."
"On a Roll in Madison is a great new old place. They have homemade wraps and salads, quiches and soups. Fresh ingredients and wholesome prices. They'll even cater your next book club luncheon. You can dine-in or take out. If you dine-in you'll find a casual and cozy room with a comforting fireplace. How great is that? So get out of your lunch rut, get some fresh and tasty food, and get to On a Roll."
"The upscale deli On a Roll may have a kitschy name, but the sandwiches, soups and salads it serves are classic. A bowl of creamy tomato basil soup or the rosemary chicken pot pie will warm you on a winter's day. So will the crackling fireplace at this cozy shop downtown, which opened in 1996 but feels older with its pressed-tin ceiling and marble cafe tables"
"Our holiday cocktail party was incredible. Baby lamb chops, coconut shrimp, fillet on baguette, sushi - I felt like I was at my wedding reception all over again! Top notch - highly recommended."
"The word 'restaurant' might be too broad a term for this place, because it's a little on the small side, and they are not open for dinner. But whatever you call it, this quaint eatery serves up food that is packed with flavor and, most importantly, fresh ingredients. "I've been going to On a Roll since they opened 10 years ago, and the owner, Tushar Patel, is warm, friendly and a great member of the community, getting involved in various events around town, including the farmer's market. Located on Main Street in downtown Madison, NJ (otherwise known as the Rose City), On a Roll is part of a cute shopping area, with everything from kids' clothing and a magazine store to a wide selection of restaurants and cafes. "They feature three fresh, store-made soups daily, and an assortment of sandwiches and salads. My favorite sandwich is still the On a Roll Grilled Chicken Sandwich...grilled chicken, turkey bacon and bleu cheese on a croissant. They also make an amazing chicken salad with grapes and, of all things, coconut dressing. Delish."
